Tony Cragg New York exhibition:  Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 Marian Goodman Gallery 

Tony Cragg brings a characteristic energy and his experience of material to to inform multiple perceptions, new ways of seeing and thinking. He says he seeks "a relationship with materials and things in the physical world without using preconceived notions of an already occupied language." The collection included sculptures in bronze, stainless steel, stone, and wood which expanded Cragg's vocabulary of "early forms" and "rational beings".  Cragg says, "The work I'm making is only possible because of the previous work of three or four months ago and that was only possible because of the work of nine or twelve months ago.
